What Is TOGAF Certification & How to Get It?

Enterprise architecture (EA) is a conceptual blueprint that defines the structure and operation of an organization. The EA methodology is crucial for a business. Enterprise architecture is "a well-defined practice for conducting enterprise analysis, design, planning, and implementation, using a comprehensive approach at all times, for the successful development and execution of strategy. It has six essential elements - strategy, business, data, applications, infrastructure, and security. These are also called sub-architectural domains of an enterprise architectural solution that produces a physical capacity such as system, network, and service.

How to create and use enterprise architecture? An enterprise architecture framework (EA framework) defines the creation and use of enterprise architecture. The primary role in this context is performed by an enterprise architect responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of an organization's IT networks and services. Enterprise architects determine the needs of a range of business units and processes by working across the organization.

Certification to become an enterprise architect

Best enterprise architects demonstrate how future architecture enables the capabilities that matter in the enterprise. They explicitly prove how the architecture limits operations or how it prevents the business from achieving its objectives. An enterprise architect's role is, therefore, highly professional. He needs special skills and expertise to prove his abilities. Enterprise Architect Certification is an essential qualification you need to become an enterprise architect or rather a certified enterprise architect. The certification can also give you access to tools, services, and other training that non-certified individuals do not have access to. The Open Group Architecture Framework certification (TOGAF) is provided as an individual or an organization.

How to get TOGAF certification

Anyone interested in seeking this certification is required to qualify for an exam – TOGAF 9 exam. It is a particular two-level exam of two parts. A candidate can move to level two after completing level one. Level – 1 is 60 minutes consisting of 40 multiple choice questions, and Level-2 is of 90 minutes consisting of eight scenario questions. TOGAF Certification Training is crucial to qualify TOGAF 9 for this certification. For this, refer to the TOGAF Library, maintained under the governance of The Open Group Architecture Forum, containing guidelines, templates, patterns, and other forms of reference material.
